Orange Marmalade Layer cake for Baker Birthday
I recieved a call early this morning. It was Mrs Baker she was asking if I would be able to make her a birthday cake. by 5 tonight. I said sure!! This cake is awesome. The cake is baked and then has an holes poked in it and then an orange syrup poured over it. It has orange marmalade between the layers a lovely light and not too sweet frosting and then topped with orange marmalade. Mmmmmmm I wish I was going to that birthday, although I did make this recipe into cupcakes yesterday for my sisters baby shower.

My brothers wedding cake 7-7-07
This caked turned out lovely despite the fact that the fondant wanted to escape, LOL. The wedding cake for my brothers wedding yesterday. It turned out well despite the heat and my struggles to keep the fondant from sliding. They were very happy with it and everyone said it tasted awesome. It was french vanilla, dense and moist, with cream cheese frosting and then fondant covering that and mine tasted good, Not sure what the people whyo made the others did to them, but anyway, then covered and edible pearl dragees, and a red ribbon around the bottom of each tier.

Joy Wedding Cake
In case your wondering what is on top that is a lovely heart made by swans and the black things are cowboy hats. Not exactly my style I would have used one or the other. This was made for the same girl as the shower cake. Although for a different wedding, don't ask. This is a chocolate fudge cake. And a modified frosting, as the wedding was outside in July, sigh......... I really cut down on the butter in this using like a fourth and just using more heavy cream until the frosting was the right consistency. I used yellow carnations as the theme was countryish, and baby's breath as well as yellow ribbons stuck on, all in all it was not too bad. Tasted good.

My Sisters wedding cake 02
My sisters wedding cake. A dozen different recipes for cake were tried before we found one we liked. This one was from the Cake Bible by Rose Leavy Bernbaum, I hope I spelled that right. The frosting for this one contains lots of lovely butter, heavy cream, almond and vanilla. Yummmmmmmmmy my sisters boquet was daises and she still loves daisies so thats what was on the cake.
